Hi! I just find out that I am pregnant (great news!!). It very news, my periods were only due a couple of days ago. However, I am a bit worried, because 3 weeks agos, I had thrush (candida albican) and my GP prescribed me some anti-fungal oral tablets. This has always been a recural problem... I did not think twice, and took the tablet. A week after, I felt that it was not finished, so I took another one... And now, I am panicking because I know that you should not take those tablets when you are pregnant as they can be armfull to the unborn baby... How bad can it affect my baby? what is the percentage of risk? Thanks for your answer... I have an appointment with my GP in 5 days.....

Mention it to your gp when you see him. I think that the risk will be very low as long as you stopped taking them when you found out you were pregnant.
Thrush during pregancy is very common so that itself is nothing to worry about. I think that because you were taking the tablets at such an early stage it should not pose much of a risk!!

Talk to your GP!! You should have a scan at 12 weeks. The sonographer knows what they are looking for. You can mention it to them too. If there is a major problem it can be picked up then.

Try not to get too stressed about it, you do not need stress at this stage. Try to think positively and relax. If your GP is not worried then its nothing to worry about!

And congrats on your pregnancy. It sounds like you are very happy!!

Your baby should be fine.

Lots of women take medication before they are pregnant - its impossible to know! And the babies are just fine.

I had thrush when I was about 12 weeks pregnant and was given cream and pessaries to treat it, which contain the same ingredients as the oral tablets.

Not unless you have high fevers. Hot temps are not good for fetus's. Also when you were sick, it depends on what kind of meds you took. The only thing that you can have that early in pregnancy is Tylenol. Good Luck I am sure that everything will be fine.

Well..if you took the pills before you knew you were pregnant, chances are that the baby will be fine because it was too early to pass on anything to the baby-due to it not being implanted into the uterus yet. The worst thing you can do for your baby right now is worry, so don't.
