If your having someone else do it, once a year if you have brick or rock on your house. If you own your own pressure washer, twice a year. If you don't have brick or rock, I wouldn't use it at all on siding or wood.

Summer is the best time so it will dry out faster, once a year should be more then enough.

I wash mine in the spring to eliminate mildew in the Summer.
