THE LIBS WOULD LIKE YOU TO THINK, we're not doing anything with stem cells but that is far from the truth. The argument is with embryonic stem cells, which have not proved to be as effective as adult stem cells. See for yourself

We aren't behind by any means. First of all cloning is far different then stem cell research. For $50K anyone can have their pet cloned in the USA. Iran has cloned one lamb...no big deal.

Most of what you are hearing is that the US banned stem cell research..this is simply not true. The US government has banned federal funding, ie using tax dollars, to fund such programs. All other funding is still allowed.

BTW, The belief that drug companies do not want cures is more Liberal propaganda and shows how uneducated the American populous is as Drug companies are some of the largest donors to stem cell research.

So you're holding up Iran as an example of to what heights the USA should aspire? Iran, that rogue state currently being sanctioned by the rest of the world, is the paragon of excellence in your view? Even if your example weren't Iran; even if it were a responsibly democratic and civilized society, I'd use my mother's answer to your question: just because everyone else jumps off a bridge, does that mean you should, too?

The answer is the drug company's do not want a cure for anything and have a powerful lobby in Washington, those on the take from the drug company's will never vote in favor of funding such projects.

LAREDDAWG beat me to the answer, dang it ;-) but the post is quite correct and of course it seems some groups just insist that their way is better and of course they won't give it up. Alot like a child who's candy was taken away.
