This is a good question, and people here answer as if they started the world and they speak about ending it on a definite time and date.
If No Best Answer is selected by voters on your question, yahoo gives you back 5 points, but again you are unfortunate that some evils popup to vote a few Gods who answered here with some crazy dates and times for the end of the world. So you are unlucky.
As long as human cannot predict the future precisely, this question can fetch only vague answers. But seeing from the earth quakes, wars and advancement of technologies(invention of Weapons of Mass Destructions(WMD)) and country against country , region against region we understnd that we are almost near an end. Some of the possible foresighted events could be astroids falling on earth, major quakes and even man made destructions like nuclear bombs etc. But yet a lot of other scenario which is not in human foresight may also be possible.

It depends how you define the 'world ending' - do you mean the universe collapsing? Planet Earth being blown apart (eg. a nuclear bomb)? Earth swallowed by the sun as it expands? The end of human life? The end of human civilisation? The end of our current culture? Or the end of your personal world or current lifestyle? - we all live in our own worlds to a point. Anyway, for all of the above, who knows? - Hopefully it'll be a long time away xx

My boyfriend has been working in Russia, and they have apparently been working on this question (not my boyfriend, the russians!), and they reckon we have about 50 years. It seems that global warming is melting all the glaciers (sorry to break that bombshell!!!), and the real problem is that all the dinosaurs that died out are preserved under it. When the ice around them melts they will properly decompose releasing serious amounts of methane, and that is what will end the world! Please don't quote me on this, as I am no scientist. Personally, I don't think it will end, it will just evolve. Whether we will still be around to see it is another question again!

Well Im a muslim.. We believe that only God has the knowledge of when the world will end.. But someone asked the prophet about it and it written down in several of his sayings, signs of the end of the world.. there are many, which are about the same as in the bible (Christianity).. One way also which you will know, is the 2nd coming of Jesus.. he will come, fight against evil, bring peace and prosperity to the world, get married, have a family, remain for 40years and die a natural death.. After that, the world will end.. So as long as you know he isnt here yet, dont worry..

You have to wait for abound 50 crore (500 million), because our galaxy is moving towards our nearest galaxt Andromeda with a speed of 18KM/sec, and it will take around 500 million years to reach, and then...... a big collisions.

Another possibility is when our sun will be matured (almost after 250 millions of years), that stage is called red giant, then it may destroy earth.

But dont worry, it will take long time, so just enjoy your life... :)

We (humans) will become extinct before the world ends. When the world eventually blows up it will still exist but in smaller pieces.
