No one "becomes" gay. Sexual identity is determined by genetics, not personal preference. Being gay does not mean only sleeping with someone of the same sex, but loving them. Think about the way a man loves a woman, and why he doesn't love his best friend the same way. Being gay is the same thing, only with different genders. A person who is gay goes through puberty and realizes they have an attraction for the same sex, yet many gays state that they sensed they were "different" since they were children as young as five. Sometimes, people change their preference, but it is due to brain chemistry and not outside forces (this is why praying and porn do not work to change sexual identity.)
Many straight men and women are afraid watching a gay film or hanging around gays will make them gay, but it's not true. Otherwise, a gay could become straight by hanging around straight people!

Pure good luck.
Well, there's a big argument about whether it's a genetic thing, or whether it's a learned behaviour. Nature or nurture. Nobody can really figure it out - there are some tempting physiological commonalities suggesting it's genetic, and there are some patterns which look compelling, but none of it's much stronger than the background noise.
It's worse if you ask people to tell you what made them gay - either they'll tell you they knew all along, or they'll tell you they suddenly switched, or there was a gradual realisation, or any number of reasons.
Seems to me that sex is a behaviour, and the places to look for how that behaviour is manifested are all in the environment. We don't assume, for example, that being left-handed is genetic.

A gay becomes a gay at about age 13. This, of course, is the age every boy and girl chooses his sexual orientation. The child has had 13 years to witness America's feelings toward gay people and the lovey terms used to describe gay people, and he/she decides to be on the receiving end of those lovey comments and feelings, thus declaring "I am a gay!"

Being gay is a mental disease, it could be caused by some or other trauma in life, maybe a poor self image and the need to degrade onesself, maybe poor parenting or parental figures!
One definitely is not born gay, God would not create a person damned, he gives us freedom of choice, gays choice to be gay and thus damn themselves!

There are many theories. Here is mine. Sexuality is a choice. We do choose who we are attracted to mostly up front but some of it has to do with subconscious. Sexuality and gender roles are learned rather than are born into us.
BTW, I go against the grain from some of the bible thumping faux xtians when I say that as well as the homosexual lobbies. We are not born heterosexual nor are we born homosexual or even bi-sexual. We are born asexual. We then learn through environment what we are attracted to sexually.

Apparently the proper use of grammar and ability to spell is what makes us gay.
