I am a mom. I have also worked in adult clubs, as a waitress. From a mother's standpoint, I can see where you wouldn't want your son to be in the club. From a wiatress's standpoint, I have seen what goes on in the club. They'll announce that it's his birthday, get him on stage, and make a big fuss over him. They more than likely won't strip him and have their way with him, even if he does want them to! If your husband has always been honest and faithful to you, I say let your husband have his fun. After all, you only turn 18 once!

I think it is wrong and would be really upset if my husband ever suggested such a thing. What does your son think about this? He will probably take him anyway but make sure your husband and son know you disapprove. Your son is almost an adult but still needs a positive role model. It is nice that your hubby wants to do something for your son - but a strip club?!

Wow, cool dad. Right of passage, that's classic!! Leave it alone, now that he's 18 he can go with or without his dad...but whatever..it is a father-son thing which the son will be grateful about and all his friends will be jealous. My brother took me to a strip club on my 18th...

Irrespective of what people have to tell i personally donot agree with them. Strip clubs on his 18th birthday what next prostitutes? Drug peddlers ?
Come on guys be serious He may have done it before but he allways had that fear of gettin caught which prevented him from experimenting further, Now that u have sent him a signal that its ok to go to a strip club whats gonna prevent him from doin somethin else.
What about morals do u want your son to be a real jerk who looks at women with nothin but lust and objects of desire or would u have him respecting the opposite sex as individuals .
I am a 23 year old guy if i have this kinda sense whats wrong with ur husband

Does he respect women? This could teach him that women are just here for sex. Make sure he knows that most women are not like the ones at a strip club and that they deserve as much respect and honor as men. Girls have brains, muscles, feelings, and are every bit as capable as men. Make sure he knows that girls are not here too be pretty things too look at. If he understands this, and won't view women in a disrespectful way after going, then let him go. But remember, if you don't want him to go, you don't have to let him. You are the boss until he moves out.

My parents are divorced so my circumstance is with my mum. Well my mum's a very conservative women. however her dad brought her out on her 21st birthday to watch a topless women cabaret. During the 70s, thats as good as a strip club. My mum was glad her dad brought her cause she thought the show was entertaining AND it was good that she went with her dad than her friends.

On my sister's 21st birthday my mum brought my sister to a strip joint. My sister is also a very conservative women and the least liberal you would meet. She didnt take the idea well, but my mum forced her to go cause she just didnt want her to go there for a her first time with someone else.

I believe by doing so the parent could see the teen's reaction and would get to know them better. BUT i think if a man brings a young man. Its a little wierd.

i think the idea of a single parent bring a teens on his 18th brithday is a good idea. But A HUSBAND in a strip joint with his son is kind of twisted, dont you think? I mean as a wife i would get really paranoid if MY HUSBAND goes to strip club surrounded with sexy, hot, gorgeous-looking, NAKED women trained to seduce and turn people on.

IF YOU GO ALONG you can keep and eye on your husband and your child. ESPECIALLY YOUR HUSBAND. you dont need to worry so much about your teen, cause your there. They probably think it isnt wise to be a wise guy.

But then again they would probably reject the idea once you say you're going with them.

Your son is 18 years old and according to the government he is an adult. It would have been wrong if your son didn't want to go or was forced to go. I would support this if my son wanted to go to the club and if I were you.

No way I would do that with my son. While every kid would think their dad was really cool for doing that (I know I would have), that doesn't necessarily make it a good thing. As a father, I have to wonder what would be wrong with a man to make him think that was a good idea...
