♥I believe in God...He's a very good friend of mine, and he loves me just fine....so why do I always feel like I have to be perfect for others to see that?

You don't have to be perfect for others. Only to God. Being happy all the time is impossible. Remember, God is a jealous God. God is wrathful. God is angry. God is sad. God is forgiving, and above all God is love. God is not happy all the time. He wouldn't expect that from us either.

I honestly don't think your ideals or beliefs in God mean you will have or must show continual happiness. We're human, we're not perfect, though God tells us to strive for that goal...'Be ye perfect as your Father in Heaven is perfect'. I'm having difficulties choosing the correct verbage to use so to get my thoughts across to you clearly,so bear with me, please...Well, think about Bible times. Do you think Noah was happy while building the ark? He had hecklers, doubters, total unbelievers, calling him crazy & insane. And, to the carnal eye, he must've looked pretty goofy building that huge ark when they hadn't seen a drop of rain in how long?? Well, I'm sure Noah wasn't happy about the jeers & name callings, but, he was a believer, as you & I. He knew what God's intentions were. He tried warning everyone, but, again, they just laughed, giving those unbelievers even more ammunition against poor Noah. I'm sure this even made him a little angry. Here he was trying to save lives & all they could do was scoff in his face. So, all of those emotions flowing over Noah didn't change his status with God. No, I honestly don't think he was too happy most of that time, of course, until he saw the rain!!

But, you don't have to live your life for others to approve of. Only God's approval is what matters. I do understand that you want to be a shining example of the peace, love, & happiness that a close walk with God will bring you, but, that doesn't mean you cannot be human in the process. Everyone has good days & bad days. Give yourself a break...I feel you're way too hard on yourself as it is anyway. But, people will see God in you, through you, or whatever by what fruit you bear. You must have works, along with faith. The bible even states, 'Know them that labor among you'. And, your light does shine for the world to see, even if your mood tells you that you're standing under a rain cloud. I hope this made at least a little sense to you, but, I felt the need to share these words with you. Good luck to you & I hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving! God Bless You.

I'm sure not perfect, and I believe in God.

I do my best most days, but I don't think he expects more than that.

As for how others see me, I guess we do have to set good example but perfection and happiness get really annoying after awhile, so how does that set a good example? I think a lot of people get HUGELY disappointed if they are led to believe that God makes you perfect (e.g. born again Christians syndrome) and then they are the one Christian who 'doesn't live up to the standard'.

I believe God prefers us to represent him with honesty than false advertising.

Go ahead, I cuss, stamp my feet and make mistakes. I try not to use his name in vain and if I hurt someone I feel horrible and try to apologize, other than that I do my best He knows that and in the end I think others see that too.

Good Morning, you're up early! :)

I also do believe in God. I love God. But I'm not always smiling. Right now, I'm heart-broken. But I still talk to God, just so I'll feel a little better. God has always been there for me. A friend. Who I can always talk to. Anytime and any place. He wouldn't make you wait to give you a lending ear.
I love God.

As a human, it's impossible to always have a positive outlook on life. I struggle daily to keep a good spirit about myself. I love the Lord and all of the things he has put into my life, but I have to fight with my own inner demons on a daily basis. Many times, I want to just get angry and yell out. These are the times that I use to draw myself even closer to our father. When I feel this way, I start praying and asking him to help fulfill the needs in my life and to help me be stronger than the evil one who would like me to be angry and loose myself in this worlds problems.

Sometimes my face hurts, while I am at work, from smiling to people when I don't feel like smiling. I do it, because I want them to see how God has made me a better person. Even through the hard times in life, I want them to see I can smile and still be thankful.

Hey, one thing Jesus told us was, "Get angry, but sin not". In other words, we are allowed to be upset at the way the world is, but when you do get angry, don't act foolish about it.

Another thing God said was "David behaved himself wisely and God was with him". I always like this scripture, because David had so much to complain about, but even when he was at his lowest, he still behaved wisely and therefore had God's blessing on him. I wish I was more like David.

Hope this helps, God Bless.
