No they shouldn't be lowered. If anything they should be enforced better than they are now. There is too much underage smoking and drinking.
I doubt any children younger than 18 are bothered about politics.
Sex again there is already too much underage sex and even adults are not protecting themselves against STD's, AIDs and unwanted pregnancy's.
Video game ratings truly need to be enforced, I am an avid gamer but people need to realise that games rated 18 are adult games. With adult content and are not for children. Ignorant people seem to think that all computer games are child toys and are just for kids. This is not the case I have seen and heard of too many cases where adults don't pay attention to what they buy their kids. Adult games that are 18 contain just as much adult themes as movies.

No, no, and no.
Take it from an old guy. When I was a teen, (hippies era),
drinking ages were lower and it seemed to produce a lot of the present day alcoholics.
2nd - there is no age for allowing sex! If you mean in movie ratings, kids should be 17 and over. Younger than that, could give kids distorted messages about sex.
3rd - only about 5 % of teens below the age of 18 are educated enough to vote. At that age, they just do what their friends do. (all buy the same jeans, wear the same latest haircut, use the same slang words, etc.)

I agree with last 1 the age laws need to be enforced . Childhood is disappearing so fast we have pop videos that don't leave much to the imagination which any child can see. Children may be hitting puberty earlier but that does not mean they are mentally ready for sexual consent yet schools here in Britain have been told to give contraceptive advice to ten year olds . Dowsing the brain and liver with alcohol even earlier no i don't think so i have friends who are recovering alcoholics more restrictions not less.I think there is a argument for raising the age on sex and drinking but will also include restoring proper morality so sex education should include the value of marriage and in the case of boys respect for the opposite sex something the liberals have ignored. As for voting that should be raised to 21.

No. Assuming that you are an American, why should anyone under the age of 18 be allowed to vote. As far as the rest are concerned, they need to be raised, including the voting age. the minimum age for all of the above should be nothing less than 21, and that includes marriage.

I think due to the complexity of the world the voting age should be raised back to at least 21. Perhaps younger people should also
not be drafted or permitted to fight.
It is hard to judge when people are ready to do things, it is a matter of the differences in people and the diffculty in treating people equally and fairly. It can't be done so we just say 18.
I think that is too young to understand what is going on in the
world and our country. They say 26 is the new 18 ... like 65
is the new 50 ... people are changing the way they live and age.

No one ever did or currently takes any notice anyway. (except voting)
If the kids underage want to do it they will find a way to do it.
This is just another postulation by politicians and child psychologists that no one listens to.
As for voting, the politicians cant get the adults to vote so now they try to con the kids.

Only Voting, Movies, Games, and Driving should be lowered. My mental age is 16+. Who wouldn't want to watch an R-rated movie alone, drive, play teen-rated games, and vote when they're only 11?

Raised, If kids were half as smart as they think they are we would not have to worry about them indulging in excessive sex and alcohol. Most of us wish we had known then what we know now! As for voting, most kids in our high schools can't find half the states in our country on a map, and have no idea who America fought in WWII, much less make an intelligent decision regarding politics or world affairs.

Voting-NO: People need to at least be able to be responsible for themselves before they are responsible for their government. Essentially if you are under 18 in America you have no rights beyond the basic liberties afforded to a human being. In turn, you have little to no responsibilities, and what little responsibility you do have is infinitesimal and has little to no impact on society. Since you are not part of mainstream society so to speak, and you essentially have no responsibility you have no place deciding what politicians do.
Drinking-MAYBE: There are too many social issues involved for me to list right now, but in short let me just point out that the capacity and the will power to control oneself and regulates your own habits is subjective to the individual.
Sex-NO: One should only engage in sexual activity when he/she is mentally and socially stable, and able to focus themselves on the world around them without letting the psychological and physiological aspects of sex interfere with how they operate on a day to day basis. That being said, there is no one in a high school setting that is ready for sex. They may or may not be capable of having it, and appreciating it for what it is and is not supposed to be, but they are not mentally stable at that point in their lives and need to focus themselves on making a reputation for their future life.
