Tough call... Personally Gerrard. But Alonso runs him a close second. EFC ALL THE WAY BABY!!!!

Thomas K has thrown an interesting argument in... it depends on what you think is more importantant. Who will win you a match or save you a match... i.e. Gerrard could score you a goal but only play well for 45 mins... Carragher could play well for the full 90 (95 if against Man U) but break down attacks...

Still think its Gerrard though. Even from a Mersey Blue he's the best all round midfielder in the world.

carragher without a doubt.
dont get me wrong stevie g fans. steves a top player but he can be a bit hot and cold at times. he also misses alonso when he's not there to pick him out with his excellent passing range.

carra's mr reliable. nice solid proformances every game. very few attackers get the better of him 1 on 1 and he has the knack of being there in the right place at the right time. he should be the first defender down on the england team sheet every game never mind the liverpool team sheet

Gerrard is incredible. there is no doubt he is the best. and as for crouch i am sorry he couldn't play very well during the world cup so i don't what happened now. but crouch definitely bring entertainment (the robot).
