Tell him that he sings well and that he should start writing his own lyrics. ask him to show you the lyrics, and every time send him back with new advices and critics to write it again. Hopefully, that's kee him occupied for at leats a day or two.
Then, if that doesn't work, try engaging him in non-speaking activities such as...chess for exemple. If that odesn't work either, try and make him sing to someone else. Say This Person is really interested in your singing, why don't you ask her to review you or soemthing...
I know how you feel. My mother thinks she's to rival Cher and Whitney Huston, and no matter what me, my siblings or my father tell her, she won't be dissuaded from the matter...Good luck!!! :D

My girlfriend used to talk to the characters on screen in a movie, and make little "oh!" "oh no!" "awwww" sounds. She stopped when I started repeating every little sound she made. It'd take her a while to realize what I was doing, and then she heard how silly I sounded, and realized how silly she must sound. Then she stopped.

It took a while though.

And if he doesn't quit, well, at least you're singing, so you're having fun too, because singing's fun.

Compliment him and ask if he has ever thought of recording his own album? Take him to a karaoke bar and get him to sing on stage. Do a thesis on his behaviour and how it affects those around him. Lastly ask him if it would be possible for him not to sing a song for a whole 24Hrs - make it a dare or bet.

Because you said it is psychology class you could try different methods, like reverse psychology.

You could also try talking to him and explaining that it bothers you and that you would wish for him to stop singing.

You see, he is playing 'psychological games' with you....

Its a test...

And oh, I'm a terrible 'offender' for this sort of thing. Lucky for my girl I've been sick for a week, and I've hardly spouted a note...but I'm on the mend today!

Feed him the things that he enjoys eating. This will keep his mouth occupied.

Tell him you're trying really hard to concentrate on the lesson and he's not helping your grades? :P
