Simple, just nod "Yes" when they speak to you but, kind of "zone out" over their right shoulder, throw a "yawn" in there while they are talking to you, and say "I'm sorry, what were we talking about", then zone out over there right shoulder again. WORKS EVERY TIME ! been using it for years, it accomplishes the 2 factors needed (avoids conflict, and gets the as-hole away from you in the fastest, most efficient way possible, expelling the least amount of your "ENERGY") Who would wanna talk to YOU ?

Be indifferent - actually smiling works too....not a pleasant, glad-to-see-u type, but a sort of absentminded, doesn't-matter-if-ur-here-or-not smile. The person should get the impression that you'd smile at a stranger with more warmth and attention. Ignoring them just proves to them that they're bothering you, so be completely normal and use the smile. Trust me, its more effective than ignorance.

Ignore them and make faces at them that gets your point across like glar at them like why are you talking to me and walk away when they are talking.(I just hope you dont hurt a persons feelings who did not deserve it)
