There should be a law that yes they can sell the house but they must rebuy another within 3 months or be made to pay back any given money or justify their actions. Meaning such as you or I have the privalidge of selling our homes in a case of needing the money to say pay for a cancer cure or such and just because they due to bad luck recieved help they should not be denied the same right as you and me cheers.

Unless the beneficiaries misrepresented themselves to the church in some way, it doesn't sound like they have done anything illegal. IMMORAL, yes, but not illegal. This church should have bought the house for them and kept the deed, and then perhaps released it to them after a certain period of occupancy. It is when you don't expect people to rip you off that you are most likely to get ripped off.

OK, they sold it off. Why?
may be they didnt like the houses and wanted another,
may be they had other pressing needs to attend to
Any comments on this would be futile without going into this stuff.

A lot of people tried to bypass what the government did for help (which wasn't a lot), and some even falsely claimed losses, and purchased diamond rings.
While what these people did are wrong, I can only assume they did this to "get back" at the government, who wasn't there for them. In a sense, I can understand why these people did these things.
After all, it took a U.S. Representative from Mississippi, his staff, and some of his constituents to "steal" a bunch of FEMA trailers from the "FEMA Holding Grounds" and deliver them to people in need. Seriously, the government threatened to arrest him for taking unused trailers to those who lost their homes.
