It is cute but sounds like a nickname to me. I would be way too tempted to say Dakota all the time. Dakota is an adorable name too.
Kodah alone sounds like a boy...kind of like Kody or Koby...
Dakota with a nickname Kota sounds like a girl.

If your last initial is "K", every moment for your child will be a Kodah-k moment!
Seriously, keep searching for a name that doesn't sound like an Upper Midwestern hunting/fishing resort.

I am so sick of hearing people say all these names are "cute". People, we're not aiming for CUTE here. This is a name that is going to be with this child for the rest of their LIFE. Name them something functional. I mean come on, would you go to a doctor whose name is KODAH?

Great if you live in a cave, and carry a bone. Stick to "NORMAL" names that don't "DATE" the child. The kid will appreciate it, as a child (and now) my is "Matthew", it is a very popular name now but, not when I was a kid, now there are ton's of "Matt's" but, it felt a bit funny with only two "Matt's" in the whole school grade, and it was a big school. My poor brother's name is "Cornielius", Just my 2 cents.....

boy not a girl...dakota is cute for a girl or a boy but i like Dakota/Dacoda for a girl and Kodah for a boy but its cute

kodah is avery good name
but i think kodah is a perfect name for a girl

Well my brothers dog's name is Kona...so it doesn't seem liek a name i would give a child. What about Dakoda (dakota) Its the name of a state i know but i knew a girl named dakota and we called her kota...
