I am looking for signs to stick up saying that your home has an alrm system in place. I live in London - does anybody know where I can get these from?

most towns have a shop that deals with this or try staples they may have one, the local police, community police, could help you with this is possible to down load one or make your own or try your local council offices they ahould point you in the right direction

Like the majority of people you obviously don't want to go to the expense of buying an alarm system. However, burglars are not easily fooled by stickers in the window, dogs, lights that go on and off at various intervals or dummy bell boxes. But you are security -conscious and feel you ought to do something.
You are only kidding yourself! It's a fact most people only buy an alarm AFTER they have been burgled. All the reasons they had for not buying one earlier suddenly goes out the window.
It may sound harsh but the reality of being burgled is worse. Having a burglar alarm will bring peace of mind, and the burglar will always find another house without one to burgle.

get a proper system that calls the police if you are really worried, and don't bother with stickers cos it will be a waste of time.
Criminals will know whether your place is properly alarmed.
If you don't have the budget for the alarm, think about improving the locks and keep your valuables out of sight.
You can also buy a safe from Homebase for £40. They are easy to attach to something solid, like the wall or floor.

You can get them from most DIY centres but you have to ask yourself if they will be effective. Burglars only shy away from these things if the house looks like it might be able to afford a good system and/or if they think that anyone will bother if an alarm goes off. Keep safe!

Sign up for security service and the signs are provided to you. If you only want a sign to make people think you have service, make friends with someone at the alarm company. They have a supply of extra ones. They might provide you with one.
