As someone else has said go to the Epson website and down load the driver to your computer. Is the USB hub powered externally, does it have a separate power adapter? Sometimes a bus powered hub is not powerfull enough to power a printer.

One point springs to mind, if you have bought this printer new from a retailer, the C46 is an old model. I believe the current one is a D46, and if it was bought as new you should have been supplied with a driver disc, having said this I am suprised your laptop doesn't have the driver pre-loaded, unless it is more than a year and a half old.

* USB a million.a million is only 8mbps (megabits according to 2nd) * USB 2.0 is around 400mbps * Ethernet is between 10 and 100mbps, reckoning on the hardware at the two ends of the cable. One great element approximately ethernet is that it may provide a greater consistent archives stream, and demands much less processing potential by utilising the laptop. To be greater specific approximately your difficulty - it relatively is maximum unlikely to be led to by utilising the fee of the two connection. possibly you have too many USB instruments plugged in concurrently, or the modem ought to not be as properly suited simply by fact the previous modem. If I have been you, i could get something like a DSL router (Netgear or Linksys do them for variety of £20), as those are far greater reliable than the little USB modems, and take the processing potential off your laptop.

Have you installed the driver for the printer? If not, you can go to the Epson website and download one from there directly.
