I was using all the normal cleaners and really strong ones, and they work really well on the shelves and sides, but the bottom of the oven still had years worth of build up that they couldn't shift.
In the end, I went at it one weekend with some warm water, some cream cleanser (Cif) a pot scrub cloth and the flat edge of a stanley knife blade!
I wet it thoroughly with cif and water, used the blade to get the caked on stuff off, then the pot scrub and water and cif again to get the residue off. Slow, tedious work, but very satisfying!
It took me about six hours over the two days, but at the end of it, the bottom of my oven was like brand new! I could run my finger over it and it was perfectly clean and shiny, with not a trace of grease.
Try it, it really does work.

Put a saucer of ammonia (available from your chemist) in the cold oven before you go to bed. Leave overnight. The fumes will loosen the grease a lot. The next morning, remove the shelves and put them to soak in the bath with some hot water, a big squirt of washing-up liquid and a dollop of ammonia. Meanwhile check the oven . If the grease is loose then you can scour it away with a brillo pad. If it is still stuck on firmly then use an aerosol oven cleaner, following the instructions. Use rubber gloves.
When your oven is clean, try putting a sheet of foil on the bottom to catch any future spills. You can also line your grill and roasting pans with foil to save on cleaning time.

"OVEN PRIDE" its magic, have used lots of different products over many years, but this is the best ever....... Just put everything in the bag supplied and it does the work for you. You can even put your meat tray etc in the bag too. Then sponge on to the inside of the oven and it does the work for you.

Believe it or not, I have always used WD-40 for this. Its sounds totally illogical but it really works. There is nothing in WD-40, which is harmful to anyone. The reason being, it is made from Fish oil. It does many other amazing things, besides just loosening up tight screws. Try it, you would be really amazed how easy it is to clean your oven with it.

Hob Brite. It's basically super-powered lemon juice and an abrasive.
Slosh the cream on thick, then leave it for a couple of hours and scrub it away - it even shifts burnt/fossilised/cremated mushrooms from elderly frying pans!
(That wasn't my culinary disaster though - honest!)
