im from the philippines,can i use my atm card in hongkong or shenzen to withdraw some cash?

if your atm card has the cirrus logo and name then you can use it in hongkong to withdraw in hongkong dollars.

I'd say you can. I am in Beijing and I use my foreign credit card in the ATM's here. There are a few things to watch though:
1) I found some ATM's don't tell you they have English instructions.
2) Sometimes the ATM will get confused and will give you back your card and shut down.
3) There is a long delay while the machine contacts your bank to confirm the funds - it takes about a minute.
4) Sometimes the delay is so long the machine gives up and then shuts down.
5) Don't make the mistake of asking how much funds you have (unless you actually need to know) because then you will have to wait another minute or two to get your cash.
6) They say you can use it at point of sale, but I'm not so sure, I know on at least one occassion it failed and the problem wasn't me.

Simple..... What is your ATM Card? What bank is it under? Ask your bank! They would surely know if you can use it in HongKong or not and may I suggest you post your question in the CHINA travel category to get a more definitive answer.

yes, if your atm card has the logo of cirrus or maestro, then u can withdraw from any atms around the world. have done that when i went to singapore and macau, but they're going to charge ur local bank for US$1.
