First, those cramps without a period...are the first sign of pregnancy.
Second, even the faintest line on an HPT means positive.
Third, mini pills are the least effective form of birh control pill and taking anti-biotics completely reverses the job of the pill. It is recommended that for mini-pill users to wait a full month after stopping antibiotics before continuing regular sexual activity without a second form of birth control.
If you tested the same day at home that you did with the doc, the results are likely the same-most use the same strength of test found in HPT. If you can't wait until you hear from the doc, take another test with the first wee of the day. I think a congratulations may be in order here.

I had a similsr experience about a year ago - was late - took a test and there was a faint line/shadow, even though the first test was negative the second test was shadowed!
I waited a few more days and went to the doctor who did a test there and then to determine the result - it was negative.
Dont worry about the lateness of this as you have been on anti b's, my friend was on them (they cause the pill to not work properly) and she was about 2 weeks late - so dont worry just yet, on the other hand, as they can stop the pill from working there is a good chance you could be pregnant.
Try not to let this bother you (hard i know!) but wait and see what the doctor has to say first.
Any way, good luck and i hope you get the result you are looking for!!! xx

I am quite certain that you are pregnant, and this is why:
you are normally regular - although stress etc can affect periods, 10 days is still too long a gap to await your period.
When you are pregnant, at the early stages of pregnancy, you will feel as if you are due on, except your period never arrives.
And finally - my mother in law got pregnant when she was on the pill, when she was given antibiotics, as this interferes with the pill's effectiveness, so, the chances are that you are.
Also, for the person above that suggested using oils to relax, avoid those - when you are pregnant you can only use certain oils otherwise it can cause harm. You are pregnant, a faint line is a positive - there are no false positives, just false negatives.
I'd say congratulations! Do let us know if we are right.

hi there. I took a pregnancy test when I was a week late. This was negative but like you I was getting strong period pain. I would wake during the night with this pain and be convinced I was starting my period, pop on a towel and take a few painkillers. After another week and no sign I took another pregnancy test which was positive. A shock I can tell you. Im now mummy to 2 year old girl. Sounds to me that there is a chance you could be pregnant. Good luck!

I had the same problem...Faint Postive sign, all the signs I would have my period everything. My boobs hurt, I got fussy with my step dad around the same time, pre-period cramping. Everything! Well it never started so I just took another pregancy test 4 days later(after the first test)and the faint line turned into a postive...then another one 3 days after that one and the negative sign was almost gone! Im going onto my 5th week of pregnancy now...Good luck hun....

sorry honey but it sounds like your pregnant to me, a negative can always be a positive but a positive can never be a negative, unless you have a faulty test, and you said a very faint line appeared! well that happened to nme and i am now 4 months pregnant. sometimes when us ladies get pregnant and we do a test, if its at the early stages then we probably havent produced enough HCG hormone thats why they say do it the first wee wee of the morning, do it again if you cant wait for the results, But whatever you do dont drink lots and lots of water just to get a result as this may dilute the HCG.
hope i helped

i had 2 negative results when i though i was pregnant, and now im 25 weeks pregnant with twins, so yeh the tests can throw a false result sometimes. i would wait for the doctors results to arrive as they will be more accurate.

I bet you are very worried and that is the main cause of lack of periods. Also antibiotics can throw you out but I have a simple treatment that I normally tell my patients.
Run a nice hot bath and put some sweet oils in it and put on a nice relaxing cd as well as some incense.
In a lot of cases it just allows your body to relaxe and the problem is solved but if it does not work atleast you can relax till you get your results back.
