You can get spray suede cleaner for shoes. That will do it no probs. don't use water as they will go hard.

Unfortunately, you cannot wash sued. The only way to clean them is to brush them off with a bristle brush etc. I too have sued half chaps, but what I found was, since they get very dirty, it was so much easier to buy another pair- that way I could use those ones for shows because they would always be clean (and black!) and I would use the first pair for schooling since they had already gotten dirty and you cannot get them completely clean again. Sued half chaps are pretty cheap and can be bought for 60$, so if your looking to clean yours for a show then its probably more worth your while to go buy a new pair and keep them for showing.=] EDIT: I have never tried to put my chaps in the washing machine- I have been told it ruins sued, so my solution was to by a second pair for showing, but you could give it a try and put them in warm water with soap- as the second poster said.

Hi,
I suggest that you use a gentle soap like Ecover for delicates and mix it with some luke warm water and hand wash (the dye will come out of them, so wash separately) . Rinse and pat dry, then allow to dry naturally. You can brush up the suede with a suede brush to get them back to looking how they were.
Hope that helps

im a bsja showjumper and i use suede chaps for schooling of lessons i clean mine by using a suede brush to get all the dirt off then i use a damp cloth and brush with baby shampoo of very mild washing powder (only a tiny amount) and scrub them! i then rince then in very luke warm water and leave them to dry! the more water you use the more likely they will go hard.
invest in a pair of leather gaiters for competions and use your chaps for everyday use! you can pick these up reasonably cheap and they will last you for ages and also look smart too!

Use a suede brush, which has brass bristles. If there's any staining then they need dry cleaning.
What jumping competition has chaps in the dress code?!

they'll be OK in the wash, that's what i do with mine.
any detergent is ok, just make sure they go in on a cool wash and a slow spin, then hang them to dry.
good luck with your competition!!
