There is no correct answer for this question. It all depends on what school you are going to, what the weather is like there, and what kind of person you want to present yourself as. I think you should bring whatever clothes you wear in India. When you get here (to the US), see how the other students are dressed.

jeans and a cute shirt. But I can always tell who the foreign students are, to me the fashion of other countries is just awesome. I'm so tired of the fashion of the us it's not even funny, stuff just gets uglier and uglier. I mean, they keep on making clothing for people that would come from mars or something. Don't try to fit in, be an individual and people will respect you because of it, stay true to yourself. And bring stuff that you think it'd be hard to get here. like cd's of music you like, or fav movies. traditional things, also if you've got medicine you love and can't live without that's a good idea since it's super expensive here, don't know if that's legal but you can always try.

Hey, beautiful! GameGiver here. This is what I would tell you to do; don't pack anything. Just come on over with like 500 dollars if you have it and find you a store (something like, if not, the Gap) and tell them to load you up on basics. You can't go wrong. Then, keep you like 200 for shoes. If in doubt, ask them what's hot. They'll tell you. I'm out!
