Something like a natural law..
If you try to hold sand tight-fisted, it slips, just gather it gently, and you can hold more of it......
Try to search for something, you may not find it easily, but when the search is over, just a casual glance, and it the thing is right there !
We casually read a book or story, and we just get the thing into our head, but if prescribed it as an academic syllabus, it becomes a tough thing to learn !
This phenomenon looks mystical, but there could be a subtle law operating 'unseen' to the casual eye....
Mystics say that desire and the anxiety or doubt about its fulfillment are self-cancelling thoughts, that actually prevent the happening of what we wish or want to happen. 'No expectation' is supposed to be the key to life itself. Toil without a 'desire' for reward.....

I figure its because its quicker to reach the conclusion that you don't want something so you don't give it much thought. But if you do want it you have a lot more decisions to make - will it fit, is it right for me, can I make use of it, can I afford it, is it compatible with other stuff etc. So there are far more criteria to match and that can make it harder to find. It doesn't happen all the time - otherwise we would do and have nothing.

Because things that come easy we take for granted..And we always want what we can't have!!
Basically if it's in our face we know we can have it and that's not a challenge.
And if it's something out of reach..that's a challenge ...We as humans love a challenge just like our furry creatures!!

Take a chill Pill dude. When you really want something its at the forefront of your mind. Its like time stand still. When you dont want it Its there because its at the back of your mind. If you dont search you will find. Never be to hectic. Life is too short what will be will be. Thats my philosophy....... I think

Do they no longer teach English grammar when sitting a Philosophy degree ?

Its non of your suggestions. You don't notice the thousands of times when something is there when you need it, nor do you notice the thousands of times when someone isn't in the way.

No mystery here.

out here, the elders tell us to ask for St. anthonys help.
My teacher lost the tiniest screw of her eyeglasses, she kept mumbling the saints name and lo and behold the screw was found amongst the crumbs of a cookie she has eaten.
On other days, its probably the world getting its revenge on you.

It is human nature to want what is out of our reach and take for granted what we have.
