you have to disable the network card :) not the wireless card but the network card you probably have one that you don't use.

Right click on "My Computer" anc click on Properties.
Go on Hardware ->Device Manager-> Network adapters

Find the network card that you are not using and right click on it and choose disable.

Your computer also has a LAN adapter installed. To disable this, click onto Start -> Control Panel -> Network Connections. Right click onto Local Area Connection and select disable.

No more irritating messages about network cable is unplugged.

Right click the icon, Left click open network connections, right click local area connection, left click properties, Clear the check boxes at the bottom of this window by left clicking "show icon in notification area when connected" and "Notify me when this connection has limited or no connectivity".

Or if that doesn't get rid of it you could disable the LAN option in the bios. Windows wont be able to tell you about the LAN if it doesn't even know it exists.

click on the start button
then select "connect to"
then select "Show all connections"
locate the network connection which has the red X and right click on it. select delete. this should delete the connection completely

don't think you can. my friend is on wireless as well and she always has it and it bug's her as well, the only thing i can think of is if you 'maximise' all the screens that you have up so it goes over the bar.
good luck
