For the past 3 years my wifes relatives have come over for thanksgiving and I seem to end up in jail. I cannot stand my wifes side of the family they are the reason I drink and get loose. I told my wife I will be on my best behavior this year but I said that the last 3 too. Words are exchanged on our marriage and it always seems to end in a altercation with me shoving her mother or sister. I cant afford to go back to jail and I am paying for this meal so where should i drink at tomorrow?

Totally can understand about relatives, BUT, as a grown man, and for your wife's sake, Give it a break, let them win just once, that should shake the hell right out of them just by u doing that! It's called reversed sociology, I mean if they were to do that to you what would you think? LOL and if u had a video camera u could win funniest home video's just by the look on there faces when your extremaly nice to them and Polite don't forget that! and just walk away. I promiss It will be so worth it, It will literly ruin there night, for the fact that they as well look forward to making your night a living hell. Make the joke on them this year. PS if u do please let me know the outcome. I've done this and it really works. LOL Shock the s--t out of them and still stay on the wifes good side! winner all-around. Good Luck sunnydays

it sounds like u need to be the bigger man and just keep your mouth shut and mind your own business. if they refuse to let u do that then tell them that u bought the food they are eating and if they don't appreciate that on thanksgiving day then they need to leave and not come back until they know how to act, if your wife cannot understand and do something to help u then she must enjoy seeing u go to jail, however i am a little worried that u take things like that too far, are u normally violent?

wow! sounds like an intense fued...I know inlaws can be a pain in the ***, but try and get through it...my advice is to just ignore them honestly they just want a rise out of you and if you don't give it to them then it takes all the plesure out of it for them...that is what will really piss them off...and keep you out of jail at the same time and looking like the good guy. Also guy are u hitting women thats not ok!

I had to put up with that crap for 18 years with my family. I feel for you. Save yourself and LEAVE the house while they are there. Tell your wife it is better for you to not be there so you don't end up in jail.

yeah, that doesnt sound good...i think you need to get help with the drinking thing. first of all, for the thanksgiving thing, i would recommend waiting to drink until later on in the evening after everyone has gone home and let it be a reward for making it through the night without going to jail. you should really get some therapy for the drinking though, it sounds like its controlling your life.

Seems to me that any mature man should be able to spend
T-Giving afternoon with relatives he does not like ...
Without getting drunk or into trouble like a juvenile brat...
