I'm an extreme introvert(one who wouldn't change that gift for anything).
This summer we moved across the country...out of the land of chaos(ontario) and basically into the land of solitude(newfoundland).
I have a bay out in front of the house I live in so I get to watch the sunrise(when I am up that early)
And the ocean in out the back door(I'm on a huge sandbar) and basically wilderness all around. I live on the edge of a town of about 1500(i think) with a funeral home to the right of me and across the road there is a cemetery.
I escape by going for long walks(3 hours+), either along the shore
or down the abandoned railroad all by myself.
When I don't have that kind of time and the weather is nice I go directly to the shore out back and sit on the rocks and meditate.
If I am stuck in doors either I meditate or read or sleep(if I really need to block things out)
I had to make a comprimise whe we moved here. I don't have to work but my 89yo mother in law is here so there is always someone else in the house which is a totally new situation. She's a nice lady but the intrusion on my brain!!!!!!Even when I am downstairs and I hear her walking around upstairs....it drives me
nuts. I have two big dogs who are well behaved except when someone comes to the door. I had them blocked up downstairs with a babygate and some panelling when I would go out for my walk but this week they broke right through it(luckily I was here at the time)so my walks are limited this week as I can't trust them to behave when I am not here.
So my walks this week are limited to getting groceries and going to the post office. When I go do that there is a trail at the end of our property so I go back there and basically walk along that. It's more cut off than taking the sidewalk from the house...so I get to recoop a little more.
Have you ever read...party of one by anneli rufus???? If you haven't at least check it out on line. The best book I ever came across for accepting who you are as an introvert!

If I am an iuntrovert, I will surely not write long. My greatest moment is to look into eyes of my sweetheart. No speech. Let the silence speak.

This may sound weird, but I love my daily time on the toilet. I am alone, and propriety bans anyone from interrupting me.
