Here is a listing started of two player only games. There are actually many games that two players can do though. These ones I've highlighted specifically as being designed for two players only.

I assume you are looking for games requiring some advanced strategy rather than games of a pornographic nature? Go to a good game store and look for a set of games that come in boxes about 20 cm (8 inches) square by about 3.75 cm (1.5 inches) tall. Some of these games are: Blue Moon, Catan Card Game, Hera & Zeus, Jambo, Lost Cities, Odin's Ravens and Starship Catan. (Many of these games are actually card games, but they are a lot of fun.) Other games that work really well for two players include: Blokus Travel, Dominion, Galaxy Trucker, Le Havre and Smallworld. I have and enjoy all of these games except Hera & Zeus, and you should too provided your tastes aren't too different from mine. :-) - LJS

I agree with the one above me...chess! My wife and I play and it's awesome. We also play Upwords, Big Boggle, and Scrabble!

Now here's another idea. When my wife's parents visit from California, we take them to this place called All Fired UP. It's a ceramic place where you pick out a ceramic thingy of your choice, paint and decorate it, and then the All Fired Up people fire it in a kiln and have it ready for you in a week. It's a really nice atmosphere and very relaxing. Perhaps you have a place like that for them to go to in their area and you could get them a gift certificate there. Or go with them the first time, and if they like it, then get them a certificate for another visit. It's a fun bonding experience.

Well, of course Monopoly is for the ages 8-adult right? And can have more than two peole can play. So if you or any otherfamily members come over for a visit they could play to. But also its very, very fun.
Good luck!
