7 letters: TRIPLE J!!!

Triple J is the best radio in the world. It's a government funded indie/alternative radio station from Australia and it's jam packed with the Land Down Under's best... but what's more important is that it's real music made from the heart. They play a lot of great unsigned bands that sound like nothing you've heard before and have the most awesome live music broadcast, including the famous Live At The Wireless and some exclusive secret concerts. Oh, don't worry, some of your favourite British/American/other international bands might get played as well and it's louder than ever.

Genres: alternative, underground, rock, acoustic, humour, industrial, indie, techno, electronica, hip hop, r&b, sometimes smooth jazz... almost anything but bubblegum pop.

Listen online: www.abc.net.au/tripleJ.

TIP: If you hear a song you like, keep your ears tuned to the artist/band's name then look up www.myspace.com/whateverthatbandsnamewas ... they would most likely have full song previews posted on that page, exclusive sneak peaks, song videos, downloads, and other hot stuff. Some famous Triple J Unearthed alumni include www.myspace.com/killingheidi, www.myspace.com/missyhiggins, and www.myspace.com/sickpuppies.

Disclaimer: it's not the most family friendly radio... parental guidance recommended for young listeners.
