Vinegar and Paper Towels. Hard lime deposits around faucets can be softened for easy removal by covering the deposits with vinegar-soaked paper towels. Leave the paper towels on for about one hour before cleaning. Leaves chrome clean and shiny.

Bon Ami. All natural, non-toxic and soft enough that it will not scratch (although it's a powder form and everyone thinks it will). I even use this stuff to the hood of my car to get off tough stuck-on-baked-on bugs and it has never scratched my paint. (You might also try Bartenders Keeper.)
