Well, as someone else said, Toyota owns Scion. Scion is their more expensive and customizable division, created more for the younger generation. They are both reliable and safe cars, while the Corolla gets better gas mileage which is something I can personally attest to. The Corolla gets 28-30 city and 35-37 highway and the tC gets 23 city and 30-31 highway. If you're going to get a Corolla, the Sport is definitely the way to go. Personally, I don't like the big-body style at all, but I can stand the Sport. However, if you can afford a tC, I think that's what you should get.
But that's just my honest opinion. I have a 2001 Corolla LE that I'm almost done converting to a Sport. I'm the first and only owner, have put 96,000 miles, have gotten regular oil changes and services at my local dealership, and I've never had any problems. I love my car and don't ever intend on selling it, but if I *could* afford an additional car and those were my only two choices, I'd definitely go with the tC.

If you live in America, have you even considered an American car?
Sheesh with so many jobs being lost to overseas companies when will Americans begin to realize their job could be next?
American cars DO have good quality and good resale if you just look around.
