expectations. You think India are one of the best sides in the world.. they are not.
They have no balance, a good batting lineup on its day, and no bowling to speak off.
The players are too flashy, they are too hit or miss.. they either spark and score 300, or don't and get 91. Only Dravid is capable of batting in an ODI match. Who else to India have that can bat? rather than Smash a cricket ball.
Look at Australia - Ponting, Hussey, Clarke, even Symonds (the heart of the Australia order) can bat out 50 overs if needed, or really run up the score, smash to all parts if they need 350.
India can't. Once they got into some trouble they folded. No one fought, I did not see the match, but I am guessing that poor shots were played all around, and no one fought for their wicket, they gave it away.

Quite right my man. It was a bowlers pitch. However that is no excuse for a poor batting performance. Other batsmen besides Tendulkar and Dravid will have to start scoring big runs outside the sub-continent. The selectors need to seriously consider bringing back Ganguly and Luxman. However let us not forget that India were missing key players through injury.

If you see the past records, you will find that even experienced players had not done well in South Africa. Considering this fact I do not think there is anything wrong in trying out younger players if it gives them good exposure in playing such conditions and improve their performance in future. Since World Cup is only few months away, India have to build a pool of probable from which they can select the team for the world cup. Players like Laxman nd Ganguly do not require exposure to the conditions abroad, whereas the inexperienced players surely need such exposure.

Progress of a Nation is not in games, but production and distribution. When India produce agricultural and engineering goods, world not come to grab it. It should be available at cheap rate to Indians for their consumption/utilization. When the population grows and production is not reached to the need, price will increase and tomorrow we WILL HAVE TO SPEND BILLIONS OF MONEY for getting to the FIRST in Cricket and Football, which the Players are well aware and they are not interested to encourage India's target in Sports and Games. Sports and Games are for those are filled with wealth and happiness NOT TO change the direction of interests.
