thank u even teh concerts suck. mariah!!!!! she was canceled here in germany due to poor ticket sells. and when jay-z came he was onstage for like an hour. i chose to download songs indivisually rather than the whole album because there are only like two good songs on the whole cd. and i download from a paid site, thank you very much. 99 cent a download.

in some cases, there is money lost because people are able to download the songs they want rather than having to go out and buy the record. Even fantastic artists are losing some profit through this activity. While what you say has some merit, it doesn't explain the 2 million people that download an entire cd. I definitely agree there are horrible songs on most cd's. For some, it even consumes the entire playlist.

its because the record industry is slow at responding to changes in new media. i dont think it has anything to do with the quality of music artist are putting out. I would say that I like stuff from the old days more than stuff now, but with downloading and alternative media people are looking to connect with artist in different ways. Hard media is going to die in the next few years. Digital media will be the next big thing, they need to embrace iTunes, embrace myspace stop suing youTube and Myspace for people sharing their ****. If your **** is getting shared its worthy of being bought. Put as many point of sale interest ONLINE as possible and wait for the shift to happen.
Find the best ways to embrace the new generation and it will change accordingly.

It's because people people don't look for good bands. They watch MTV or listen to the standard radio. That is not how to find good music.
MP3.com use to be a good site to find good music, but now start with www.music.download.com and www.epitonic.com. Follow that by something like yahoo radio where you can follow the style of music that you like while banning stuff you don't like. Then you find a band and go to amazon.com and see how their whole CD sounds.

I can tell you don't make a living off your ideas. It's horrible to have a song and have ppl downlowad it for free, instead of paying you the royalties you are suppose to receive.
Would you like to work all day at your current job and no one pay you because they can "get it off the net" for free? No!
I work and my paycheck better be there on payday. But I am an aspiring artist and I don't want my stuff going out for free.

we like anything that comes free. we only pay for something that we really like, things that we dont like, we think twice before buy it,or trying to get the things without paying. the same goes with music.
