Tendulkar is the past now. Lara is much better. Over and above Ricky Ponting is the best right now. A score of 196 and 50+ in the same match, awsome.

Lara is definately better than Sachin. Just go on records Lara have singlehandedly won matches for his team,on other hand sachin has never done it.Lara has 19 centuries in test matches in which he crossed over 150 runs. Has sachin ever got 300,never

With his recent performance against Pakistan, Lara is no doubt better that Sachin Tendulkar as far as Test Cricket is concerned.
However, Lara has not been much successful in One Day Cricket as compared to Tendulkar. Hence one has to compare both of them in overall respect, Sachin is still the better as he is a utility bowler too.

I think Brian Lara is better than sachin right now.But being an Indian, Sachin is the best for me everytime.

lara is far better batsman the the sachin. he alwys score run when his team need unlike sachin who show his back to his apponent withgout giving any compitition to them

brian lara at the moment definately although sachin just isnt in good form. chris gayle is right up there - his average at the chapions trophy was awesome!!
