After having my first baby I'm left with a few strech marks on my tummy. I'm very skinny so there is no pouch..just a few little marks. Other then the obvious(tummy tuck) are there any treatments for them? And I know enough woman to make the assumption that 90% of woman get marks from baby's so in actual fact this is very common.

Just embrace them.... look upon them as the badge of honour they are - you are a mom, and they are a result of you having carried your child!

There are other asthetic proceedures you can have done to "zap" stretch marks, but it takes a few sessions. You can use Palmer's Tummy Butter (found anywhere from Walmart to Ulta) or any stretch mark reducer to lighten the appearance, but the actual grooves won't go away without some kind of laser treatment. You can always call a dermatologist's office to get more information

It is common to get stretch marks during pregnancy because you stomach is growing quickly especially in the third trimester and having your stomach grow that much in a three month time period is pretty hard on the skin. You may recall your belly itching during the last 3 months and that is due to the skin stretching.

You might be able to use bleaching cream to lighten them but if you tan you will still see them. I myself am fair in complexion and mine are light in color and not very noticeable at all unless I tan my stomach; which I don't. There are a lot of laser treatments for skin blemishes so you could see a dermatologist for some options. I am sure that medicine is working on something if they haven't already come up with it.

Why is it so important to get rid of the few marks, do you really believe that you have to be perfect? I would rather my girl have a few stretch marks than to have a huge scar from a tummy tuck, gross. Get a good tan on that tummy and the stretch marks will almost disappear.

To the guy who wrote this "Well other than don't get fat and then get skinny.", you're an idiot.....can't exactly help that when you're pregnant.

As far as answering your question, maybe try the cream they make to use on scars, should work just as well i would think. I was thinking they made one for stretch marks but i could be mistaken. I'd say call a doctor's office or a pharmacy....ask them if they have any suggestions, they'll probably know better than anyone else. Good luck :)

Try using Mederma scar cream. Follow the directions on the package. It will not totally get rid of the stretch marks but will help to make them less noticeable. Nothing but a cosmetic procedure will get rid of them all together, but some over the counter treatments, such as Mederma will make them less noticeable.

Well i have to say that all through my pregnancy i used something called pure cocoa butter, and i also used it after wards too, and it worked....people cannot believe i had a child and especially that i have no visible stretch marks.....it's all about moisturizing....it's not too late to start either, there are many creams, and lotions to use try one of them, it will help not only the texture of the skin, but also the fading of them. Good luck.

The is no "cure" for stretch marks apart from time which fades them from red to silver. The main cause is weight gain and how your own body responds. Much depends on genetics, however with pregnancy one has little or no control over the amount of "stretch" your individual skin can take. Sorry mate......you could look on it as one of life's milestones, similar to one persons crows feet round your eyes is celebrated by another as laughter lines!

Cocoa Butter but really nothing takes stretch marks away. I have a few and i am pround of them. I don't find it gross or it dosen't make me feel like i look awful.
It reminds me of my son that was once inside me when i do look at them. I wouldn't worry so much about them.

Well other than don't get fat and then get skinny. I would go with the basic coca butter (dependable brand), Lubriderm, vitamin pills just rub where ever or some even say mineral oil. Good luck
