The smallest arachnid is probably one of the many mites that can be found in the world. They are a hyper diverse order (Ascaris) and have many different behaviours and requirements, some are predatory, others are detritivores, and some are parasitic or herbivorous. The parasitic varieties are quite small compared to some of the larger velvet or spider mites. I couldn't give you the name of the absolute smallest, but Im pretty sure the smallest arachnid would definatly fall into the parasitic mite catagory.

Good Luck!

I would say the mite. There are many species of mites, which vary in size. Many people think arachnids are only spiders and scorpions, but Arachnida includes mites, ticks, spiders, harvestmen (daddy long-legs) and scorpions. Mites and ticks belong to the order Acarina.
