Depends what kind of death will come. If it is an accident or sudden death where you will not even have chance to think or death in sleep.....then I don't think I will be much afraid, but if you already know you are dying.....or if you are undergoing some painful medical treatment every day.........or death which comes only after lot of pain , like while burning or drowning....or suffocation, certainly gives a shiver.....yes then I will be afraid of death

Who isn't? There is the instinct of self preservation in all of us through millions of years of evolution. But there is a difference between being afraid once in a while and being afraid all the time which could indicate psychological disorder.

It is a natural marvel. All of the life of the earth dies, all of the time, in the same volume as the new life that dazzles us each morning, each spring.... There are 3 billion of us on the earth, and all 3 billion must be dead, on a schedule, within this lifetime.... Less than a half century from now, our replacements will have doubled the numbers.... We will have to give up the notion that death is catastrophe, or detestable, or avoidable, or even strange. We will need to learn more about the cycling of life.... Everything that comes alive seems to be in trade for something that dies, cell for cell. There might be some comfort in the recognition of synchrony, in the information that we all go down together, in the best of company. -Lewis Thomas, Lives of a Cell

I'm not afraid of dying as much as I'm afraid of the pain and suffering that might come with it. Also It's natural to be a little afraid of what you don't know so yes in a way I'm afraid I know it's the one time in life where I have to do it myself and no one can really help me.

I'm afraid of dying *in pain.* But I'm not afraid of dying. Often times I feel like I would welcome it: this game would be over at last, and responsibility for steering my ship would be completely out of my hands. To go to sleep and never wake...I hope that when my time comes, it's as simples as that.

Not at all. I believe every soul will go where it belongs. I keep telling my friend Kesa that the "burning in Hell" thing is a myth. Who says you burn in Hell? I'll be with those like me. Pure ulmate evil. Ergo, no, I don't fear death.
