The same reason you never saw the very beginning of the Rodney King tape....because the media wanted to sensationalize it. I saw it once. King went through 2 cops instantly and started to go at the other 2. The tape the media aired didn't start until the cops finally had him on the ground.
The media is just using Richard's for headlines. He should never have said what he did. He's been in that business too long and knew the consequences. He should have instead turned their racist remarks toward him against them or just ignored them. My question is why is there no backlash on the perpetrator's racists remarks toward him. Everything is always about white people being racist against black people. I've only known one white person to use that word until now. Richard's makes 2. The racist remarks the other way are more plentiful in my experience!

My guess is because whoever recorded it did not think to start taping until after Richards was pushed too far.
Hey, it might justify it. There is no excuse for being rude to anyone. Hecklers are rude people by definition, and if that's what they were, then they deserved to get told off. Now I don't think his response was appropriate, but hey they had it coming, for being rude. It's like Jerry Seinfeld actually has an amazing quote about hecklers, and i tried searching for it, but the search "Jerry Seinfeld heckler quote" just brings up thousands of hits about Micheal Richards. But Jerry said something along the lines of, "I'm working up here. Do i come to your job at the office, and while you're holding a meeting start to hiss and boo at you? 'Boo get out of the chair! Boo!'"
It was something to that extent. I loved it.
But again, the hecklers had it coming. And now, people might start to hate them because they are trying to get money.

why do we have to tip toe around people's feelings?...we all know there is, always has been, and always will be racism in the world..let's get over ourselves people. I, as a white male have felt a ton of racism dished out by persons of color..Not necessarily all of it by name calling, but by actions, some subtle, and some not so subtle.. We in America are no different than the perpetually warring tribes of the mid east when it comes to fear and loathing of anybody different then ourselves, whether it be color, religion, social status, political leaning, or sexual preference....just my opinion...

Oh don't worry you will. Gloria Alred is all over this. She's the clowns attorney who were heckling Michael. I feel sorry for the court battle he'll have to go through. They wont let this die easily. Heck no. They see dollar signs over a few words. It makes me sick he can be sued over this. I say let them put on boxing gloves and duke it out like men.

Nothing excuses him for what he did. Someone insulting you doesn't necessarily mean that you should do the same think. You should never lower yourself to the level of anyone insulting you, if you do it proves that you're worse that the person who insulted you in the first place. Besides, that was way too racist, he completely crossed the line.

im sorry it dosent exuse michaels actions for saying what he did, but did anyone remeber that the black men called him cracker and white boy. also racist. if black people wished for that word to be rid of mabye they should stop using it themselves. both were wrong and to blame and its not just michaels fault. end of

If they were calling him a stupid honkey who couldn't tell a joke it would matter. Not to justify his response, but there is as much racism toward whites as there is blacks, if not more.
