Which do you prefer? I think that Series of Unfortunate Events was written for adults to enjoy. I bought the first Harry Potter DVD and fell asleep from boredom and will never pop it into my DVD player again. I make my hubby take the kids to see new Potter flix. I just think that Lemony Snickets books/movie is much better (even using a pseudonym was pretty cool and the fact that he uses alliterations for book titles)....Give me your opinions and any movie updates if you have them. Thanks.

I actually like them both. I Loved the Series of Unfortunate Events movie, it was really well done. The Harry Potter movies, not so much. I have read and really like all the books - I was really disappointed in the movies. I felt they cut out a lot of the more interesting and important parts.

I haven't read A Series of Unfortunate Events, but as far as I know, I doubt it was created for adults. I prefer Harry Potter and I think it's popular among all age groups, both adults and children. But you can't determine which book is better if that's what you're asking. I can tell you which one I prefer, but not which one is better because better is a term that varies according to the view of every person.

did you read the series of unfortunate events, or just watch the movie? the books ticked me off, sitting there explaining every 'big' word when i already know what it means. those book deff. were not written for adults. i started that series, couldn't finish the first one. tried again, got almost all the way through the series, then got irritated with all the word deffinitions again. Harry potter is a million times better IN MY OPINION (my disclaimer, so don't be bashing my opinion)
