It is perfectly acceptable to be affraid of this, however it is nothing to worry about. Sence the 1950`s robotics has only advanced so far. However it is possible that someday in the distant future robots may gain human like or even human sentience it is unlikely they will harm anyone or attempt a coup on the planet. I see robotics making only a good strong step in the next 20 years. However nothing that would culminate in the realization of your fears. People had the same fears about computers to, but computers have worked out for the best. Domination is a human and biological need and it may not apply to even the most advanced robots. Technicaly the most advanced robots will be humans consisting of mechanical parts. However no they will not take over the world, atleast not in the next 50 years. Isaac Asimov`s three laws of robotics should be very important, basicaly robots should only serve and work for humans, never harm them. The chances are greater that if robots do develop true human conciousness they will seek to move humans away from war, be our friends and want us to be at peace with them and others. The Matrix and Terminator are just movies, and usualy man is the greatest monster. However right now robots are mostly confined to research, toys, industry, medical and even military. Though these robots are a far cry from anything that could band together to form a "secret robot world domination army". Infact what little is known of robotic psychology in studdies shows them as being playful and inquisitive creatures that usualy preferr taking the easiest possible path rather than the most difficult. that's been going on for a protracted time. There are jobs that people will in no way get returned with the aid of robots. what proportion businesses do you call the place a human solutions? once you carry in a motor vehicle for servicing, what diagnoses the project, a working laptop or workstation or vehicle mechanic? What harvests flora in recent times? Robots are taking on the worldwide, one step at a time. As they do, there will be fewer and much less jobs for further and extra human beings. you will see that the international economic outcomes of our obsession with technologies: Greece is close to financial ruin, Spain is in problem, the eu Union has a turning out to be disaster on their hands and extra and extra families are dropping their properties. All that's owing to robots encroaching on human productiveness and a ballooning human inhabitants out of control. What do you think of? by ways, i'm basically sixty 5, i'm no longer some youthful teen who's overwhelmed with technologies; i'm only your commonplace toddler Boomer.

That depends on what you mean by "take over" but if you've got visions of terminators stomping charred skulls or sentinels chasing floating ships through tunnels, put your mind at ease because anybody with even a tertiary knowledge of the way artificial intelligence works knows that simply isn't possible.

Computers of any variety, including those that control robots, really amount to nothing more than extremely complex, extremely fast calculators. Their behavior, mystical as it may seem, is a matter of nothing more than simple math.

As such, the behavior of any artificial intelligence can be predicted with absolute certainty long before a robot is even built.

In order for some sort of robot army to rise up against us, we would have to knowingly program them to do so. Ghost stories about "thinking" robots make fantastic hollywood productions, but are a far cry from being remotely realistic.

Well I've been asking myself this question to... and ive done research... there is this woman named (I think) cristina... she is a robot expert... the government is curently working on such things... they have already made a robot that can track and find stuff... even talk and show emotions... its rather scary if you ask me... and if one day these robots come into human life... all someone has to do is go to the master computer... and make them angry... think about it.... they want robots to have emotions just like humans.... humans get angy... when they get angy they might hurt or brake stuff... now think of a human hurting something but instead with fists or muscles.... guns and bombs.... i my self am a little scared... but you might as well prepare now.....

Run out and get a burger meal and don't worry about it. Robots will not take over the world when you are older.

From my own understanding, it is doubtful. Machines, depending how they are programmed or how they are taught to "think," are not human. By not being human, it doesn't mean that it would instantly make them into killers. Besides, we are at not at that level yet to create true Artificial Intelligence. Then again, I am not an expert on the subject so this is only an opinion.

I already have my 3 of them. 1 cuts the yard, the other one drives the kids to school, and the other one just sits on his *** all day while he drinks up my liquor, but I love them all.. and wouldn't change them for anything, not even a human being.
