I love how people say Mexico is a crap hole. Yes, it is for the bottom 80% of the population, and do realize the upper 20% make incomes that are similar to people in the United States causing a income distrubtion that is worse than the United States, and can thier be a way to grow the ecomony market sparking unrest. The free trade agreement is speededup ecomonic since 1994 grew US ecomony by 67% and the Mexican economy by 46% but the income gaps between the upper and lower workers is growing. I think trade agreements can work if thier better safety in place for workers so they dont feel left out

Have you seen the destruction that all of that free trade had left Mexico with? The Japan Companies came to Mexico & built factories & hired the workers at about $30 per week. They had no benefits & no compensation after they became sick because the factories were not properly ventilated & the workers developed all types of cancers from the toxic fumes of their workplace. The factories shut down, leaving the workers sick. On top of that, the factories polluted the land & the waterways with their chemical waste. Who's fault is that? The Mexican Government was so eager to get jobs for the people that they didn't think to place restrictions on these large corporations. It may look good on paper, but unless you have seen the destruction that was caused, you probably would not believe it. I have to think that the government was smart enough to ask for more money than they admitted to getting. Everytime I see a new TV, I think about those workers & the factories that exploited them. Those companies have now moved to Indonesia, where they have a new source of poor people to exploit in order to provide low priced electronics for Americans to buy. :o)
