Racial discrimination is everywhere.

If I go out to the mall I'd never know racism still exists, that is, if I go as a consumer.

Man, once the Internet became affordable to average households, that's when I knew that racism really still exists in the United States.

I could always say to myself that there are many others that were more qualified for the job(s) I applied for and did not get, so I never really claimed racism for being unemployed.

But after years of checking out the Yahoo newsboard/discussion forums for many years, I've come to believe that the majority of white U.S. citizens do not like black people regardless of whether any individual black person they meet is good or bad. The recent Michael Richards a.k.a. Kramer tirade just further supports my findings.

The 9/11 - Muslim issue is scary because most U.S. citizens couldn't tell the difference between a sikh and a Buddhist monk. Not because they look alike (obviously they do not), but because many U.S. citizens like to jump on the bandwagon. It's much more fun to bully someone, and especially with mob reinforcement, than it is to be bullied.

If you ever get a chance, check out the Twilight Zone episode "The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street" and you'll get a pretty good idea of what living in the United States can be like at times.

I know that it is in the US. Most of the minority races are the people who are the poorest, are unemployed, don't own home, and are undereducated. Just look at our government. I bet you could use your fingers to count the number of people of color that were elected. We still haven't had a minority that has been elected to the Presidency and I don't think that equal oportunity is equal to everyone as of yet. I think that racial discrimination is alive and growing in the US with 9/11 and the new discrimination class of middle easterners and Moslims. As long as we have one group that has more power at their disposal to keep the inequality alive, it will thrive.

Unfortunately, yes racial discrimination still goes on everywhere. In fact, racism began in the western countries. I think of Racism as Slavery. If a person still harbors hatred toward another group of people. I mean, racism is slavery because as long as it exists my people will never be free. My husband and I want to teach black people where we come from; how we shaped this world and how we came from kings and queens, etc.

Of course it is. Everyone hates white people -- they are the source of everyone else's problem, they are the ones who took land away from the Indians and the Mexicans. White people try to segregate themselves to avoid being around people who show open animosity towards them like blacks, hispanics, asians (everyone) and then they are accused of being racist. Anyone who isn't concerned about the muslims has been living under a rock. So yes -- discrimination is here to stay.

Oh yes! It's alive and well unfortunately. However, here in the good ole USA it's more focused on Hispanics now. The Blacks have overcome and now side with the Whites to get the Browns OUT.

Discrimination is WRONG. PERIOD. Why must we keep learning the same lessons over and over again? I don't get it!

Yes, but it's reversed: minorities are given EVERY chance to succeed---Welfare, Affirmative Action, University quotas for minority populations, free tuition for Indians---and still blame the white man as the source of all their problems and how he is their enemy.

I've seen it first hand.
