What's wrong with treating a girl with respect these days?Although most women won't admit it,they usually respond favorably to someone who is polite and respects them.Unless of course the woman is a total tramp.

I commend all of you fine gentlemen who said they were gentlemen even if women do not appreciate it.(Some women are real losers) It does my heart good to know that all the good men are not dead! Thank you for every door you opened and for being polite and respectful! May the Lord bless you all!

I don't know. The woman doesn't have to be a tramp to not want that...they just have their ideas of a man with a bad boy type but is a gentleman to her. What makes you say that even these women who like bad boys don't like to be respected. Now with that said usually the ones who are trampled on have low self images of themselves (of course not in all cases). Now when it comes to opening doors and stuff I don't mind it but I am just used to doing those things myself. There's nothing wrong with a woman being independent. With my hubby I love when he treats me with respect and understanding. If I can remember to let him open the door I do...otherwise I do it myself. Not all men who treat them with respect are gentlemanly, just like not all those bad ***'s are jail birds :). Good that you are a gentleman.

I say chivalry is not dead! You can be a gentleman and not want anything in return. I still hold doors open and let women go first. If the opposite sex does not like, who cares, you are doing what you feel is right.
