I'm organizing my CD's and starting by putting them in alphabetical order by artist. I have done that, now how does one usually order the albums of one artist? Should the older albums be on top or should it go from new to old?

Here's the thing -- you have already organized alphabetically by artist -- now ...

here is what I did to make things more manageable in my CD changer:

I classified by Holiday/Christmas, Classical, C/W, Showtunes/Movies, whatever.

In each of these classifications -- I then put them in Alphabetical order by Title of the Album/Artist Name.

After that -- I set up a spreadsheet with the first column being numbers (1 to 200 -- because I have a 200 Disc Changer) -- then next to that number I listed the Name of the Album and the Artist Name (if it was a single group or musician).

Once that listing was complete -- I just printed it out, and posted it on the inside wall of the shelf where the CD changer was positioned -- and now I can easily see where each one is -- and quickly select what I want to hear.

I think you are getting a little too involved here-by artist is enough.
