it all depends on what your personal needs and preferences are. i go for a natural lip balm. i don't like super wet glossy lips most of the time. i also don't like lip gloss that is sticky. so i just use chapstick brand medicated chapstick. but i don't really need any color on my lips.
foundation is something you have to find thru trial and error. do you want a pressed foundation (found in a compact) or do you want a creamy foundation or a more liquidy one? the lighter you want your makeup to look, the thinner your foundation should be. i personally use "l'oreal paris true match" because it is light but covers well. there are a varitey of colors and there is a color chart at the store so you know you have the right color before you buy. good luck!

Consult the beauty adviser i believe they can find & match the best for u. I personally like the brand MAC. Have a try, the sales is v friendly & experience oso. I am from Singapore, visit the booth in Isetan @ shaw House.

you can either go to a department store, dillards, jc pennies etc... and have them do a makeover on you, or you can find a mary kay rep. who can come to you're house and work with you to decide what colors compliment your skin tone. good luck!!

i don't know about foundation but lipgloss should be only a few shades darker than you lip color
