cc means carbon copy
you put the name of the other people whom you are sending the letter to.

I believe, to the best of my recollection, that CC is only used to indicate that a copy of the letter has been sent to another person as well as the person originally addressed. For example, you sent Mr. Jones a letter and forwarded a copy to Mr. Smith. At the end of the letter ( several spaces below your signature) you would write CC: Mr. John Smith.
CC is not used in every letter that you write! Only those letters, usually business letters, that you have sent copies of to other parties.

cc stands for carbon copy, from when carbon paper was used. In that space you put the names of persons that you sent COPIES of the original letter to.

bcc=blind carbon copy <--- the others wont know it got sent to these people
