Depends on where you live, if you live amongst the amish youll probably end up finding that the local walmart has wiis in stock. If you live in a city where 80% of the population isnt made up of some sort of nomadic peoples expect the wii's to be sold out for a while. Cities like L.A, N.Y chicago and other big cities will have people camping the place out. Stores tend to get new shipments every friday.
To find out info go to bestbuy.com and search for a local store, call them, and choose the talk to a person in store department, then choose gaming and video games dept and someone will pick up the phone. Ask that person when the next shipment is, how many theyll be getting and if they could give you a suggestion of when to come based on last weeks lines.
Once again, if you live in a major city, you 99% of the time will have to wait 10-12 hours before the store opens if you want to be guaranteed one(2 hours minimum wait. I highly doubt you could get a wii without waiting 2 hours...).
I live in Montreal, wii was released last sunday and today(friday) I went to the walmart at 7am(opens at 8am) and they didnt have any, they got a shipment at 1pm, I would have waited till 1pm, but the employees were quebecers(didnt speak english) and extremely uninformed. I also went to the best buy I saw a huge line, went and talked to the first 4 people in line, they said bestbuy is getting 40 wiis, and theres 47 people in line.
Just some advice, always go to a bestbuy for the wii no matter what. Walmart isnt a place where you buy games/electronics. Bestbuy tends to have better service, more info and the employees arent getting paid minimum wage so they tend to have iq about 10 points higher than the avg walmart employee. If I knew what would have happened at walmart, I would have showed up at bestbuy at 7am(store opened at 10am) waited there and today instead of typing this Id probably be shooting kamehamehas in DBZ.
Next Friday, Im going to go to Bestbuy at 3 or 4am in the morning and just wait the 6 hours, Its not like I got anything better to do...

you're a fool for even asking. genuinely! The Wii is a good gadget and your PS2 could have been long gone a at the same time as in the past. I exceptionally propose you do away with the playstation @ and get the Wii. yet sell it on craigslist, to no longer gamestop, as they're going to rip you off so badly (in case you sell it to them you will get 40 for the gadget tops). purchase the Wii from craigslist too.
