Bone is pretty highly vascularized with nutrient arteries, Volkman and Haversian canals, etc. Therefore, the first step in bone repair is blot clotting. Then macrophages and monocytes and other phagocytes come and clean up waste. Then fibroblasts lay down a collagen base followed by bone matrix, and the bone is shaped by osteoblasts and osteoclasts.
