There is no point in blaming the Coach or Captain for the failure of the players to perform to their potential. How can you blame a Captain if an experienced and world class spinner concede 17 runs in an over and also the experienced bowlers are unable to contain the batsmen in the slog overs. How can you blama a Captain and the Coach if a fielder is slow to field the ball and return to the Bowler. How can you blame the Captain and the Coach if a fielder drops a catch. So ultimately for the por performance of Indin Team, the players are to be blamed.

My dear Mr. hemant p, the coach of India's cricket team is Greg Chappell and not Chappal (slippers), though by now a garland of chappals is what Greg Chappell deserves. Don't forget that Rahul Dravid owes his captaincy thanks to the famous or rather infamous Greg Chappell-Sourav Ganguly email row. Ganguly was an outspoken captain, whose century in the India-Zimbabwe series should have made our national selectors not only include him in the Indian side but retain him as the Indian skipper as well. But Chappell dislikes outspoken, no nonsense captains who question his mistakes or disagree to toe his line or show dissent. So out went Ganguly, India's most successful captain ever and in came Dravid, who was restlessly waiting for his chance to become captain by hook or by crook. Dravid knows that he must keep mum in order to retain his captaincy. Else Chappell will use his cunning machinations to replace him with a more pliant captain. So in any press conference Dravid praises Chappell and Chappell praises Dravid. Each has his own axe to grind. And as long as their personal ambitions are being fulfilled, let the performances and fortunes of Team India go to hell. And curiously enough, a section of prominent and influential BCCI office bearers find non-existent virtues in Chappell, because Chappell is cunning enough to be at the right side of the powers that be at the right time. It suits them fine to retain a mum captain under Chappell. Now who would you consider the bigger evil for Indian cricket - Chappell or Dravid? Hope you understand what keeps Dravid mum and why the board likes it that way.

I agree. The coach can only use the people he has to work with. The players should have the skills to deliver a quality game every time as they as professional sports people and need to remember that they are only as good as the last game they played. There are heaps of good cricketers in India and heaps to choose from. If they do not deliver, sack them and give the coach some fresh players. Get rid of these old tired players who can't bat or bowl.
