Why do people think hilbillies are from West Virginia?
I'm from West Virginia and both my parents are docters and so am I.

West Virginia is a captivating state. we've large fishing, searching, rafting, trekking and placement-seeing. The metropolitan parts are much like something else of the states, we've theater's, golf equipment, branch shops and such. The state is truly wild and exquisite. to respond to your question: WV isn't a hillbilly state, although there are some those who's life variety is amazingly like that of a hillbilly. you'll come across a similar form of persons in Kentucky, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Georgia. they don't seem undesirable human beings, surely there are different friendliest human beings contained in the rustic. maximum of them would bypass out of their thanks to assist someone in favor. i'd a lot truly be broke down contained in the hills of West Virginia than in huge apple city.

I live in West Virginia. It really depends on the area you live in. I have been to some parts of WV and it is really redneck. I live in Berkeley county. I live a short ride from D.C. and Baltimore. Where i live definitely isn't 'hillbillyish.' It actually is really ghetto where i live. Very .... urban. (not in a good way either) Think of inner city where all of the crack heads live. ( I never said that I liked WV, this state sucks. ) :-(
DaBurgh, As I said, it depends on where in WV. Where I live you wouldn't be called the N word because there are just as many blacks as whites. (within city limits, whites are the minority)

Many people assume that hillbillies are ignorant of proper English punctuation and spelling. Your parents who are "docters" may be able to explain this further.

If that state is not a hill billy state I don't know what else you would consider it, I live too close to West Virginia and go there often I have never got called the "N-word" so many times in my life by a white person.
