If you know the model of the PC, the manufacturer's web site may have manuals available. Look for a "support" tab.

If you can identify the motherboard, the manufacturer may have manuals for it available also.

If it runs, try the Belarc Advisor, it's free for personal use

Your best bet is the manufacturer of the motherboard. A lot of times you can figure that out by looking at the board itself. If it isn't obvious such as saying Asus or Abit right on it look for a model number such as K87N (or similar) and simply do a search for that. The mobo site should have a downloadable manual that will show you the pin settings for connecting back up the cables.

Also if you look very closely at the board itself a lot of times there will be writing telling you right on the board what goes where. It's usually very tiny writing and in most cases won't tell you which way the positive/negative ends go.

Computer Guy is right on! Belarc Advisior will give you the model number and serial number of your mobo. Then you can go to that manufacturers web site and find the info that you're looking for.
