David Wright is the best 3B. He is a five-tool player. Enough said. Yes, all he can do is improve, which is scary.

I don't think he's overrated, he is still learning and improving. He did not have a good second half, not at all. He had 22 HR before the all-star break and only 4 after, after winning the HR contest which can affect a player's swing. The same thing happened to Bobby Abreu in 2005, and he didn't really start to get his power back until late in the '06 season. I think Wright would have had a monster year if not for that contest.
He will have a great year in 2007, but as for winning it all, that's hard to tell. I see the Mets having more competition next season, and they also need some pitching--badly!

i don't think of he's puffed up. the purely reason this question is being requested is because he purely has 8 abode runs this 12 months. he remains third contained in the NL with a .324 BA. His ability numbers are down this 12 months yet so are the flexibility numbers for each human being on the Mets roster. it really is a problematical field to hit in. also, no longer purely does he have an really good person-friendly, yet he also has 24 stolen bases, 31 doubles, and 138 hits on the season. To me, it really is no longer undesirable in any respect.

Not necessarily overrated, a bit over exposed perhaps. As with anything new, there is always plenty excitement. He is a good player, and if can improve and become more solid, than the exposure will seem well deserved.

He is a pretty good player, potential to be great, but I would not call him great today .. so he is a little over-rated i guess
That said, I believe (98+ % sure) he will be great player in the coming years, and have a great career.
One or two seasons does not make a great player, its about consistency year in year out - look at Jeter, Manny, Vlad and co...

Wright is not overrated. He is sometimes inconsistant but he's young and its all up hill from where he is now.

well he was off and on, very inconsistant. after i saw him do the home fun derby i was very dissapointed. even in the playoffs he played terrible. he is not the best 3rd baseman but he is not the worse. he should improve because he is still young and has showed great potential.
