Feelings of disconnect to the rest of humanity. Feelings of 'I am the only one' causes deviation in the human psyche. It could simply be a mis-understood mental adaptation that is hard-wired into our primate thinking. It could be the ways a lonely person explores their own consciousness instead of focussing on the accepted thoughts of the wider society. Or it could just be walking the paths that false assumptions open up.

Great question. I believe the loss of love or the lack of love is the greatest cause of insanity. What do you think?

Problems , discontentment and attitude of the person involved. There are so many factors causing insanity. It can be the environment, the food and etc. but I simplify it towards the aforementioned three. Problems really causes one's mind to go berserk. Discontentment and attitude because if the person wants more than he/she can afford to attain and can't accept failure his/her mind will never be at peace. It's also one's attitude of living a life and his matter of acceptance that keeps one's sanity intact.

ok...I know this will be offensive to the 95% of people who believe in God...but I really do believe religion is a factor that contributes to insanity. Don't get me wrong, there are positive contributions with religion, but the negatives outweigh them.
